PRESENTATION

In 1967, based on the Central Scientific-Practical Laboratory, the Morphology Division was set up. In 2001, the Division was reorganized into the Morphology Laboratory. The research studies conducted by the Laboratory deal with a fundamental medical-biological scientific matter - the resorption mechanisms of the fibrous connective tissue in normal and pathological state and, in particular, the biodegradation of collagen. Research is performed on the following experimental models: postpartum involution of the uterus (physiological model) and regression of liver cirrhosis (pathological model).

Another important scientific direction is the immunophenotyping of malignant tumors of epithelial genesis. During the laboratory activity, several doctoral theses have been completed. Results of the Laboratory's activity are implemented in the daily morphological diagnosis and in the didactic process at the departments with morphological profile.
